This is an illustration project for my university course. The project is entitled "zoo". As you can see the project uses a mix of illustration and photography. People in the photos are outlined with a comic book style line, drawing the features out of the black and white backgrounds, each outline is done in a colour that represent the body of the animal on the sticky notes.
The animal heads are drawn onto sticky notes, partly because the bright colours are a stark contrast to the photo and partly to the the pieces a fun, doodle aesthetic. Each animal also has some kind of human feature, such as wearing a hat or glasses, this is to tie the illustrations to the photos, this is often an interpretation of what the person was originally wearing, giving each piece a more personal touch.
